With their neighborhood in danger of being bulldozed and turned into a golf course, a plucky group of misfit kids set out to save their beloved ‘hood in the most logical way possible: by embarking on a quest to find lost pirate treasure, naturally. Of course the path to the loot is paved with perils, including a host of imaginative booby traps, awkward adolescent moments, and a band of bumbling crooks out to claim the treasure for themselves. Yup, it’s pretty hard not to love this Spielberg-penned swashbuckling family adventure from start to finish.
